Shader SEUS, aka Sonic Ethers Unbelievable Shaders, aka sonic seus shader, is a high-quality shader that has been developing for over 6 years.

The shader has enough cool features, average performance and high enough quality of execution, you should definitely try this shaderpack.

Warning:

The shader has been developing and developing, this news contains several versions of the shader, including 10.1, 10.2, 11 and the Renewed version, the Renewed version is the coolest in terms of features, all descriptions, screenshots are made on this version, however, you can download older ones shader versions and test them, in most cases they add fewer effects, have bugs and flaws, but may have better performance.

Some time ago it was one of the best shaders, but in 2020, perhaps this is no longer the case, although the shader has several interesting features for which users love it, the shader boasts a wet surface effect, realistic lighting, high-quality shadows, excellent reflections realistic underwater lighting, absolute darkness, etc.

Pros:

  • The effect of a wet surface in the rain, all blocks have a layer of water, it reflects the world around and all this has the effect of circles on the water from falling drops, just an incredibly beautiful effect.
  • Sufficiently realistic and beautiful light, dynamic lighting (luminous blocks shine from the hands), beautiful clouds, sun, moon, shadows.
  • Realistic reflections, both in water and on wet surfaces.
  • I liked the underwater world, it is both dark and cloudy, but close to the surface it has beautiful reflections and sunny gaps.
  • Support for PBR technology (3D textures) and a sufficient number of different settings.

Minuses:

  • As for me, an unnecessarily soapy default picture, but this is turned off.
  • There are bugs and lack of lighting, the shader does not always adapt well to the lighting, it definitely lacks ray tracing.
  • Unfortunately, if it is snowing, the surface of the snow will be “wet and with the effects of falling drops”.
  • There are no ready-made modes like Lite, Medium, High. (on the current version of Renewed).

As I said, the shader definitely deserves attention, it has something to surprise the average player, although I don’t like the excessive blurryness of the picture in the distance, as well as some light and haze in the sun, the shader lacks “Clearness”, although after tweaking the post settings processing can improve this situation. (Reduce Bloom Stringht, turn off Temporal Anti-Aliasing, you can turn off Motion Blur and Bicro Bloom).

In addition to an unpleasant bug with water on top of the snow, the shader has a bug with lighting in certain situations, going down into the cave you will go down into pitch darkness, this is realistic and spectacular, but already going down into the darkness, the shader does not adjust the lighting, in the end you can’t see anything, although it seems to be very close to a very bright exit and the eyes should “get used to the dark.” By tweaking the shader settings, you can turn off or reduce some effects, even increase performance.
